The last section of the Action Plan calls for a revised meeting schedule for the 12th LD. On the 2nd Saturday of of the first month of each quarter the Committees will meet from 9:30-10:30 am and the General Meeting would follow from 10:30-12:00. On the 2nd Saturday of the 2nd month of the each quarter the Issue Groups will meet from 9:30-10:30 am and resolutions will be considered by the whole body from 10:30 to 12:00. We plan to have the first meeting of the Issue Groups on Saturday, September 8th. Ted is going to try to get the County Auditorium in Wenatchee.

The 12th LD Action Plan calls for four Committees - Candidates, Precinct, Communications and Fundraising. It is our intent that each of these committees will include people active with each of the county Democratic organizations to facilitate effective coordination throughout the 12th LD.
The Action Plan also includes an ambitous structure to facilitate issue/policy development and advocacy. It calls for the creation of Issue Working Groups for each section of the Washington State Democratic Platform and includes a comprehensive list of tasks that each issue group could undertake for outreach, research, resolutions, and advocacy on the issue.
We believe there are many ways that local Democrats can participate in the county and district organizations to clarify our visions and specific policy positions, elect strong Democratic candidates and then hold them accountable to those visions and policy positions.
We think the Vision America process has been a very positive example of what can be achieved through concentrated effort to research, analyze, and articulate effective policy positions. We also believe there are informed and concerned Democrats active locally in each of the issue areas in the party platform and that conducting outreach to involve them directly in the party's policy development process will be an effective means to strength the party.
We hope the Chelan County and 12th LD Democrats will be able to work cooperatively in the upcoming phone campaign to accomplish our common goals. We would like to see the following questions included in the phone calling script:
The section of the Action Plan on the 2008 Campaign emphasizes the coordination role of the 12th LD and reviews the basic outline of Dwight's organizing plan for 2008. It also suggests that one means to promote Democratic unity throughout the 12th LD would be to call for precinct meetings throughout the LD on the same evening.
